Suffolk Project Jeld Wen - Bite Size Computer Course In
April the Multi- Mobile Learning Bus visited Jeld-Wen
at
The
course covered the basic operating and closing procedures and also
covered Microsoft Word. The task was to create a poster using different
fonts and to resize into a colourful page. Using Clip Art in the poster was fun and many of the learners found that using computers wasn’t as difficult as they had thought. All of the Learners are keen to do more courses and some have said they would like progression courses. Jeld Wen - Bite Size Internet Course After the last successful visit to the company delivering a Basic Computer course employees wanted to do more of the same. Willie
Rouse the ULR promoted the Bite Size Internet course and it attracted
seven employees. A greater number would have attended, but due to shift
changes four or five could not attend.
The
course consisted of basic understanding of how and why it was developed.
Search Engines and how to recognise the Web addresses in different
forms. After all the tool bars and other basic application were shown
individuals search for interests they have and explored the WWW. All that attend found it useful and were keen to enrol on computer courses as soon as they can be arranged. PC Building Course Pictured are employees from Jeld-Wen who have completed a Basic Computer Course very successfully, but wanted to know how computers worked.
The course proved to be a
great success, as all of them now want to build their own computers.
John has agreed to design a course for this for 2005. Football Basics came to Jeld-Wen The
employer had agreed to release all employees to take part in the
activity for half an hour on the day.
Unfortunately the communication amongst the company was poor and only 25 employees attended. Out of these 13 said they would like to attend Basic Computer courses or improve their Maths or English.
One
potential new ULR recruited and £34 was raised for Children in Need so
a success in the end.
