Suffolk Project Europack Beccles Learning at Europack has seen steady progress over the time Workplace learning was introduced by the GMB Union back in 2004.
Several
IT Computer courses have run with many gaining CLAIT accreditation.
There are now two ULR’s trained that support the workforce of about
70. Employees have also attended taster days with the chance to sample the delights of Reflexology and Digital Photography.
The
Keystone Development Trust Learning bus has also visited the site and an
Internet session was given to those new to the wide world web. The
GMB have sourced some funding for a computer and printer that will add
real value to learning at the workplace for 2006. Europack Bite Size Intro to Computers In May organised a Bite Size Computer course for beginners. Some five members attended learning the basics and then moving on to apply their new skills in creating a poster using Microsoft Word.
The
use of the Multi-Mobile proved to be effective as there seems to be very
little space at the company to deliver courses. After the two-hour session Certificate were awarded and more information was given on other Bite Size Courses running through May.
There
was initial interest to do more courses and we are planning an Internet
one sometime in the summer.
